Stand before me
naked poem / a choice
Stand before me…
I am standing naked in two rooms
Gazing at me are two outcomes
In one room I’m standing strong, fiercely in myself
In the other I’m awkwardly shrinking from your loving gaze
And your eyes dart away
What a missed connection….shame…
I choose a room
I call myself unto myself and my skin explodes into stars.
Ah
Yesterday I wasn’t brave
Tomorrow is a mystery
I chose differently today

Rudo! Your self-portrait is exquisite and pairs so well with your poem. I literally gasped when I saw it. The colors and vibrancy and energy!
AH, possibilities left and seized. it is what makes our lives fragile but also so exciting. thanks for expressing a revelatory thought and its companion emotion with such poignant power.
